As early as 1957, Gerhard Hänel recognized the demand in the office environment for the development of automated storage systems. While the document filing carousel gained popularity in the US during the 1950’s, Gerhard Hänel did not want to simply copy the existing system and identified the need for pioneering work in this field to develop and create ingenious designs for these systems. In short time, Hänel Rotomats® were being manufactured in series production for all media styles in varied filing applications from highly active to archival in nature. Soon followed telescopic drawers, multi-functional carriers, and powerful control systems.
This type of industry leading engineering, development and manufacturing continues today. The Rotomat® vertical carousel for office filing and industrial applications, the state of the art Lean-Lift®, and the MP Series controllers remain technology leaders today and well into the future.
